December is a crucial month for small business owners in Shoreview, Minnesota, with 75 percent of retail small businesses relying on holiday sales to meet their annual revenue goals. Shoreview has multiple entrepreneurs, small business owners, and craftsmen who want to earn your business this holiday season. By shopping locally through December, you can find unique gifts for your loved ones while building up your community. Here’s how you can make an impact.

Commit to Shopping at Local Shoreview Businesses This Year

Buying from Shoreview businesses is one of the best ways to build up the local economy. For every dollar spent with a local business, 67 cents stays in the community. There’s something for everyone in Shoreview. A shopping spree through the city’s small businesses can result in dazzling gifts for every friend and family member, whether they’re a gamer, gardener or anything in between. Perhaps helping deck the halls with the perfect bouquet, centerpiece or poinsettia would be a welcome present. Gift cards are thoughtful options, whether for a wonderful night out, a special holiday dinner at several unique restaurants or helping to cross out a task on the ever-present to-do list, like a car detail or tuneup. Going the extra step to design and build a household item, from a custom gaming PC to the essential rec room addition, would be a welcome favor.

Prepare for Holiday Meals at the Indoor Farmer’s Market

Whether you have relatives visiting from out of town or are simply preparing a few favorite dishes for your family, stop by the Shoreview Indoor Farmer’s Market on Saturday, December 16, from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm. Create a grocery list and pick up various produce from more than 30 different vendors. You can also buy last-minute gifts from local artisans while enjoying live entertainment.

This is a great way to stock your kitchen to prepare your holiday meals while supporting local farmers. While American farmers only receive 14.3 cents for every dollar spent on food, they take home 90 cents for every dollar spent at farmer’s markets. By visiting the Shoreview Indoor Farmer’s Market, you can buy fresh produce for your family while ensuring local farmers have a good holiday, too.
