Business Spotlight: Rest Massage Therapy

Rest Massage Therapy is a Shoreview business that places its focus on providing friendly and holistic healing. The owner, Zang Xiong, believes that authentic massage therapy can help relieve many of the stresses of daily life. Whether it’s stiff shoulders, built up tension, or mental health challenges, Zang is dedicated to making a positive difference in the Shoreview community.

Before opening his business and after he graduated from Bethel University,  Zang lived in Falcon Heights. During that time he became very familiar and felt very connected with the Shoreview area. He often shopped locally and spent time enjoying the nearby parks and trails, especially around Island Lake. So when the time came to choose a location for his business, Shoreview felt like a natural fit.

Zang began his practice in Shoreview six years ago and then in 2023 he joined a group practice in Minneapolis. After realizing that his own practice was the best for him, he returned to Shoreview in 2024. He then heard from many former clients about how much they missed him and his services and were glad to have him back. Zang was deeply grateful for the support he received and strives to give back that same level of care through his work. To him, Shoreview is a place where business owners, residents, and clients truly support each other.

With a strong passion for mental health and overall well-being, Zang chose massage therapy to better connect the body to the mind. He has seen firsthand how the body carries and stores trauma, and how massage can help people process and release some of it. Through his personalized services, Zang works to support each individual client. He believes that when individuals feel better, that positive energy spreads throughout the wider community.

Looking forward, Zang hopes to become even more involved in the Shoreview community. He has been building relationships with local businesses and connecting with city staff to better understand the area’s future. He also plans to grow Rest Massage by hiring new employees and expanding services.
